A great experience

We booked the excursión late at the weekend for the next morning. Monika contacted us and made everything so easy. In a while she got everything organized and sent us the link to make the payment. She made everything easy and simple. Next morning we met Pawel, who picked us up exactly at the arranged time. Such a profesional man! He couldn't do anything better. He was so helpful. Guides at Auschwitz and Cracow were both so nice to us and helpful also. Thank you guys for your professionality. You are doing a great job. Has been a pleasure.... [read more]

Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial & Museum

Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial & Museum is the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp. The museum exhibition contains original documents, suitcases, shoes and other belongings of murdered prisoners. Original fences, wooden watchtowers and railway ramps have been preserved. The first and oldest was the so-called 'main camp', later also known as 'Auschwitz I', which was established on the grounds and in the buildings of prewar Polish barracks. The number of its prisoners fluctuated around 15,000, sometimes rising above 20,000.

The second part was the Birkenau camp, known as 'Auschwitz II'. This was the largest part of the Auschwitz complex. It functioned as a war camp, extermination camp and place from where people were sent to labour in Nazi Germany. The Nazis began building the camp in 1941 on the site of Brzezinka village, three kilometers away from Oswiecim. The Polish civilian population was evicted and their houses were confiscated and demolished. The largest part of the apparatus of mass extermination was built in Birkenau. More than 90 percent of the prisoners, mostly Jews, were killed there. Birkenau was mostly destroyed by the retreating Germans.

Wawel Hill

Wawel Hill, with the Cathedral and the Royal Castle, is the most picturesque and recognizable landmark in Krakow. Some of its oldest stone buildings date back to 10th century. Until 1611 Wawel was the formal seat of the Polish monarchy – it was the venue for coronations as well as royal weddings and funerals. According to local legends, in a cave at the foot of the hill, on the bank of the Vistula River, the Wawel Dragon once had his lair. Nowadays the Wawel Dragon Statue is a common tourist stop.

Excellent Day Trip

This was an excellent day trip organised by AB Poland. Everything was taken care of with pick-up and drop-off at your accomodation. Tours at Auschwitz and Krakow were informative and well worth it.
AB Poland communicated everything you needed to know. Driver was very polite and helpful.

Great day tour Auschwitz and Krakow

I emailed AB Poland Travel to enquire about day tour options to visit Auschwitz. From the onset their communication was excellent, responding each time within 1 day and providing me with clear options to choose from. Having paid a deposit I was picked up on time from my hotel by Robert. There were only 2 other travellers on my tour so we were in a very comfortable sedan car. The trip to Auschwitz was very smooth and Robert took great care to ensu re we were looked after. I was guided to the English speaking tour of the camps while the 2 other travelers were Spanish speaking and we were all well accomodated. Similarly when we arrived in Krakow I had an English speaking guide who was superb and we set off on a fantastic walk around the beautiful old city and she was so well versed in the history and obviously so passionate about the town. We had a smooth return trip to Warsaw arriving back at my hotel around 11pm. I would highly recommend the tour for travellers who are short on time and would like to see the views of the Polish countryside as well as experiencing the very confronting historical sites from WW2 and a stunning medieval town. It was effortless in terms of organisation from my very first email to being dropped back to my hotel at the culmination of the tour. Highly recommend!!... [read more]

Day tour from Warsaw to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Krakow

I highly recommend this tour! Robert, the driver, picked me up promptly at 6:30am. After picking up the rest of the group, we made our way to our tour at Auschwitz and then to Birkenau. The museum and tour are very well done with the utmost respect given the atrocities that happened here. We then had a traditional Polish-style lunch, which was delicious! Then our driver took us to Krakow; a lovely town with rich history. Our tour guides both at A uschwitz-Birkenau and Krakow were very informative and answered questions as we toured. They clearly knew their stuff! I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Warsaw for the first time!... [read more]
